Guernsey Tribe Junior Triathlon Club was born in 2019 to build more opportunities for children and young people to engage with swim, bike, and run through training and events. Tribe Juniors is a delivered by British Triathlon coaches and volunteers from across the Guernsey Triathlon community.

WHAT WE DO:

Our thriving club gets together on Fridays during school term-time.  Ages 6 to 11 train 4-5pm, and ages 11 to 16 train 5-6pm.

Younger ages focus on learning the skills of triathlon in fun, creative ways. While older ages develop the skills of training and racing.

Each week we spend some time in the pool and some time either running or biking, depending on the time of year.

All sessions are delivered by Level 2 British Triathlon Coaches and volunteers.

DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

We want young triathletes to love their sport and feel able to take it to any level they wish.  Younger athletes (aged 14+) who want to continue to excel at triathlon have the opportunity to take part in short-distance races with the Guernsey Triathlon Club and receive funding support for off-Island travel for competitions.

MEMBERSHIP and SIGN UP:

Any child or young person can join us from the age of 6, up to 16.  All members must be comfortable swimming at least 50m in a pool unaided, and be confident riding their bike without help.  All cycling takes place on grass.

FEES:

Fees are paid each term (usually 10 weeks), costing around £8 per session.
